Tatte focuses on the interaction between brush and dustpan.
My assignment was to create an elegant dustpan and brush design using wood and polyurethane. I was inspired by users' issues with storing their dustpans in inconvenient locations. I aimed to create a more compact design that still allowed for efficient cleaning

Dustpans and brooms are often shaped in a way that it not conducive to easy storage.
Project Goals
Storable
The dustpan must be able to store well in a variety of environments such as desks and bookshelves.
Material Focused
Working within the constraints of the polyurethane and wood the form must be honest to the material.
Functional
Needs to include a features that make cleaning and storage quick and easy.
Initial sketch models were used to gain user feedback in regards to storage and use.
Slide mechanism to allow simple interaction.
Inspired by the shape of books to allow for easy storage and placement in shelves and counters.
